J.R. Brown and oatmeal

what a lying bastard!.

anyways, my bro-in-law told me about how he had to sit at browns' table for 2 weeks.. one morning, one particular brother took himself a big serving of oatmeal while jr brown watched.

after the brother finished serving himself, brown said: .

At least we can feel a little satisfaction in seeing J.R. Brown present himself on Dateline as he is....a really small man....no depth, no character, no redeeming qualities...especially seeing him caught in an outright lie.

When J.R. Brown said they don't discourage elders from turning in accused molesters to the authorities...and then the taped conversation with the legal department proves the exact opposite....that had a powerful punch!!!!....right in the gut!!!!

My Witness mother cried!

this segment, unbelievably 30 minutes long, was unusual on many levels.. the victims and silentlamb representatives did not come across as anti-witness crusaders.

they came across as loving members of the human race who are doing the right thing: reaching out and helping victims.

i truly believe some, not all, some witnesses will change because of this.. just wait until they read my book next month [father's touch]!

yes morrislamb....now that you mention it...I noticed that too. And that is a real plus against the JW excuse for not seeing this show.

I can only hope that my daughter will watch a tape of this...she was faithfully at her meeting tonight. But I do have my reservations about its initial affect on her...you know...typical JW that parrots what the WTS says. My sincerest hope is that she will at least "be allowed" by her husband to view a tape of it, but I'm not holding my breath.

this was prepared and presented far better than i could have ever imagined.. to all you individuals that stood up to goliath.

i am so proud to be in assoication with such strong people.. thank you bill for your efforts and willingness to put a name and face in front of the cameras spearheading this effort.. thank you dateline.

PROUD..YES, YES, YES. I so agree!!! Proud and beaming with tears flowing freely. What a feeling in contrast to the embarrasment I have so often felt with being identified as a JW. Now I know why.

LOL Kismet...I also started to type on COMF's thread about doing a follow up story...but erased it...Glad you thought of it too and had the .....s to mention it. I think there could be a great follow up with more interviews with others coming forward as a result of this exposure.

Powerful, awesome, and so gut-wrenching to see them expose the lies, lies, lies.

Powerful punches with the taped directions from the legal department to not go to the authorities and to see the molesters going in service and talking with his Bible open to the householder.

I have such a flood of emotions and tears seeing all of this exposed and the WTS look so weak!!!!!

accuracy Do you even read any of the replies to your posts?

Time and time again, your supposed "proofs" that we are wrong and the WTS is right are shot down with facts, yet you continue to come back singing the same tune in a new thread.

Are you also blind to the numerous personal experiences victims have
painfully described for us?

Perhaps you should face these victims and tell them the WTS did its job, or listen to Barbara Anderson describe in graphic detail what some of the little ones had forced upon them to do to a member of their family and tell them the WTS handled them with love, compassion, empathy, healing words and action.

Then, if you could still come back here,cold and callous, and continue to say the things you do to support the WTS...then I am even more embarrased to know that I was ever a part of this religion.

of course, i realize that it's intended purpose is to serve as a stumbling block for jehovah's witnesses, yet at the same time it also serves as a platform for me to defend my faith in a public forum.

over the years i have appreciated the opportunity provided by this and other forums to confront and refute various challenges that apostates have presented to our precious faith.

I'm so glad you posted your distress and anxiety here. This place has many here that have gone through and know exactly how you feel. Here you can find empathy, understanding, love and good advice on how to deal with your memories and the feelings that result.

I agree with Dana's encouragement also to talk to a professional about your feelings of desperation right now though to help you work through this.

I hope that seeing more and more victims finally speaking out from their enforced silence, will actually help you and other victims to end the frustration of not getting any justice from the WTS.

Dazed....please know that you and all the victims that have broken their silence here have all helped me (and many more too I'm sure) so much to see so much more clearly just how shallow the WTS has been, and still is, in its promoting the "good name of the Society" rather than the physical and emotional well being of those in its care.

Please hang in there!!!

I asked someone what he thought of that statement about what people knew 20 years ago about the affects of abuse. He said its true that we're learning more everyday about these things but to say that they didn't know 20 years ago how abuse would harm your child emotionally is an embarrasingly stupid remark.

I'm continually amazed at the depths the WTS will sink to try to justify themselves rather than just simply saying "we made mistakes and would now like to make up for them".

How much more healing would they generate with showing true humilty and compassion.

But no...they continue to find more excuses to cover over their methods of handling, or mishandling actually, this crime against innocent children.

Thanks for digging these up for us. Your are so right...this is proof positive they knew. Once again they are just trying to protecting their a$$es...or is it their assets????

Spanking WT in Benton KY

well we did it, 45 people were present for the first candle light vigil for silentlambs around the world.

holly and heather berry were there along with many other victims who told stories, sung songs, and recited poems that were self composed to help them deal with abuse issues.

there were many touching moments where you could feel the heartbreak and pain suffered by the expressions made.

This really looks good on the WTS!!!! How warm and wonderful all you silentlambs must feel to finally see the WTS and elders squirming.

It is one thing for the WTS and staunch JWs to be smug and self-satisfied when the newspapers reports experiences of the JWs who were persecuted for "doing the lord's work", "preaching the good news", "displaying loyalty to God" etc. etc. and blah, blah.

But instead of "standing firm in the face of adversity" these elders simply showed blatant cowardice, and were totally rude to not even show up and try to explain why they didn't want to hold the meeting.

You loyal JWs take note ....WTS cannot cry "persecution for righteousness sake". This is simply getting your just rewards, WTS and you elders of Bill's congregation. Its the old "what goes around, comes around" thing.

Open your eyes all the rest of you 'dear' elders who follow every syllable coming from the mouths of the GB.....you are merely the lowly peasants doing the dirty laundry of the fat, rich lords of the manor.

I hope you soon open your eyes and see how you are just the pawns in the big chess game the WTS is playing.

DATELINE May Be Pre-Empted or Rescheduled!

there will be an nba playoff game on nbc at 9:00 pm est.. this means that dateline will either be pre-empted or shown at 8:00 pm est.. according to my tv guide that i received in the mail yesterday, it is scheduled to come on at 10:00 pm est.. that would mean that it will be pre-empted.. however, tvguide.com shows dateline being scheduled to air at 8:00 pm est.. that would mean that it would air as scheduled.. so, since friday's (may 24) dateline will be the last show until tuesday (sunday's is pre-empted) they should announce at the end of the show what will be coming up for tuesday the 28th.. let's keep an eye on this.. the only thing definite is that it will not air at 10:00 pm est (for all you vcr-heads) on may 28.. my apologies, of course, if someone has already addressed this.
